Susi Bascon, Director PBI UK
Susi completed an MBA and worked in the private sector for several years. She moved to London in 1996 to do an MSc in Development Studies, hoping to transfer her skills into the voluntary sector. She worked for the Colombia project and spent a year as a PBI volunteer in Mexico, and has been running the PBI UK office since 1998. She says, “As a field volunteer I was deeply touched by the strength of spirit and courage of the human rights defenders I had the privilege to accompany…their commitment to justice went often beyond the fear of losing their own lives".
Pamela Feldman, Fundraising Officer
Pam started volunteering at Peace Brigades UK in 1999. Her volunteer work focused on advocacy and training related to the previous project in Indonesia. She has a background in social psychology and has done fundraising for refugee, human rights and international development charities since 2002. She started as a part-time Fundraiser for PBI UK in 2008 and is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the safety and work of the many courageous human rights defenders who PBI accompanies.
Rob Hawke, Advocacy OfficerRob has spent several years alternating between work in Latin America and the UK. His BA in Latin American Studies was followed by stints in Bolivia and the Dominican Republic working in journalism and education. In the UK, he worked for three years with a homelessness charity. Rob joined PBI in 2008, spending a year working as a field volunteer in Colombia before joining the PBI UK team in London as advocacy officer. Emma Marshall, Communications Officer
Roy Taylor, Finance Officer
Roy Taylor has been connected with PBI since 2002, when he started working for the Colombia Project, as finance worker. He also worked for the Nepal Project and PBI International Secretariat, before joining PBI UK in his present capacity of Finance Worker in 2008. He is also a voluntary member of the PBI International Finance Committee. Roy has extensive experience of overseas projects and has lived and worked in a variety of countries, including Angola, Malaysia, Mexico,Portugal, Spain and France. He speaks fluent French and Spanish. Roy now lives with his wife, Christine, in Canterbury, UK. |




Emma has been involved with PBI since volunteering in the UK office in 2006. In 2007-2008, she spent a year in Guatemala as a PBI field volunteer, and served on PBI Guatemala's coordinating committee during 2009-2010. She's been a PBI UK staff member since late 2008. A fluent Spanish speaker, Emma's background is in photography and journalism and she also works as a freelance photographer.
