UK > Who we are > Board of trustees

The members of our Board of Trustees come from a broad range of backgrounds and experience in the public, private and charity sector. They work in a voluntary capacity, meeting regularly to help guide PBI UK's strategy and policy, and decide how funds are spent.

Kathleen Armstrong

Kathleen spent many years working in the human rights, conflict and international development sectors before training as a journalist. She coordinated CODEP, the UK Conflict, Development and Peace Network, for four years; organised the international NGO conference that ran parallel to the 1998 Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in London; and spent five years as Western Australian branch coordinator for Amnesty International Australia. Prior to that she worked for several years for Australian trade unions. She also has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Originally from Canada, she now works as a freelance journalist.

Emma Douglas

Emma is a solicitor specialising in bail applications for immigration detainees at the College of Law’s Legal Advice Centre in Store Street, London.  Emma also volunteers on the Rights of Women’s advice line once a month where she gives immigration advice to women, many of whom are suffering domestic violence. Emma volunteered for the Peace Brigades International Indonesia Project in 2009.

Tiffany Garside

Tiffany is a professional fundraiser, working as a Corporate Fundraiser and Corporate Fundraising Manager at NCH and Sense respectively. She is now heading up the UK office of Magic Bus overseeing fundraising initiatives, sustainability strategies and the day to day running of the charity as its Development Manager.
Tiffany recently spent a year volunteering in South America for orphanages and a street child project.

Sanjay Joshi

Sanjay's professional background relates to finance, risk management and business and strategic planning. He is an Associate Director with the world-renowned ratings agency Standard & Poor’s. He also has significant third sector experience, having been the treasurer of Crew, an Edinburgh-based charity specialising in substance use and harm reduction, and of Mosac, a charity supporting families of victims of child sexual abuse. He has also been on the board of four other charities/community organisations, and has supported four more charities in four different countries in the developing world by providing them with capacity building support on their financial management. He has been the Treasurer of PBI UK since March 2011.

Samantha Pritchard

Samantha is a solicitor who specialises in providing governance and commercial advice on a wide range of issues to charities and not-for-profit organisations at Russell-Cooke LLP.  She is the vice chair of a community music organisation and until recently volunteered in her spare time as a mentor in a social inclusion project in Brixton.
