Mexico: Undermining the Land - community rights, the environment and mining

Mineral resources are an important source of wealth in Mexico. The extraction of these resources is frequently a source of conflict among affecte dcommunities, organisations that defend human rights, mining companies, and public authorities.This report explores the context of this conflict and gives a voice to some of the human rights defenders PBI accompanies in the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca who are threatened because of their work seeking greater respect for the rights of communities affected by mining projects.
